Zinkwazi folk love walking up the beach towards Tugela on the low tide. If the weather is good its a very pleasant and polular activity. A few came across a turtle nest in the process of hatching. No sign of course of mother turtle, but about 30 babies had emerged from their nest and were battling to make it down to the waters edge. Fortunately there were enough hands to assist and ensure that no birds or dogs interfered with their journey from high water mark down to the gentle waves where they still found it difficult to launch themselves into the surf and make off to sea. We hope most survived to make the deep sea their home and will one day return to the exact same spot on our beach to breed
